Sacramento continues to push cities in California to "Build, build, build". How much housing do we really need? Do the State's mandated housing allocations (i.e. a City's RHNA allocation) reflect the population growth? More and more cities are protesting the State's mandated housing allocations (i.e. a City's RHNA allocation).
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) identifies the total number of homes for which each region in California must plan in order to meet the housing needs of people at all income levels. The California State Auditor is now auditing HCD on their inflated RHNA numbers. Thank goodness for this!
You now have to be involved and stay involved. Here is how you can help:
1. Send a letter to the California State Auditor and let them know why you object to the RHNA allocation by HCD.
